Jerusalem pilgrims to get help, says CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao told at the official Christmas celebrations that the government would consider providing financial assistance to pilgrims visiting Jerusalem and address the problems of the community including shortage of cemeteries.
Mr Rao launched the official festivities at the Nizam College ground by cutting a cake and distributing gifts for children. “The government will acquire land in every town and village and allot it for cemeteries. We will work out a policy on how to help more devotees visit the holy land.” he said. With the election code for the MLC polls in effect, Mr Rao said the government will consider all the problems facing the community. “We will call a meeting in the first week of January with representation from all denominations and chalk out a plan,” the Chief Minister said. Nearly 5,000 christians from across the twin cities participated in the celebrations.
