Five women killed as bus hits autorickshaw in Adilabad
Adilabad: In a ghastly road accident, five women including three teenaged girls, died on the spot when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling collided head on with an RTC bus coming from the opposite direction near Salugupalli village in Bejjur mandal on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sidam Suguna, 35, Lavanya, 31, and three students aged around 16, Ch. Pushpa, Laxmi and Parvathi, studying in government schools and belonging to Bejjur mandal.
Heart rending scenes were seen at the scene of the accident as the bodies of the women got scattered on the ground when the speeding RTC bus hit the autorickshaw. The accident took place when the RTC bus going to Bejjur from Kagaznagar collided head on with the autorickshaw which was going to Penchikalpet.
It is learnt the incident took place when the autorickshaw driver tried to overtake a vehicle and collided with the RTC bus. The autorickshaw driver managed to escape after the incident.
Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa visited the accident scene and consoled the families of the deceased who reached there after receiving information.
