Number talk: 'Dilwale' collections on a high over the weekend
Mumbai: Everyone said that the big clash between 'Dilwale' and 'Bajirao Mastani' could have been avoided. Shah Rukh Khan said that it was unfortunate whereas Sanjay Leela Bhansali said the clash should not have happened. However with around 52 Fridays in a year, some clashes are bound to happen. With the screens increasing every quarter, two big movies can have a window to release on the same day. So who won and who lost? Technically both the films have worked with its respective target audience but had they arrived solo, the collections would have been more.
According to the makers of 'Dilwale', the film collected 21 cr on Friday, 20.09 cr on Saturday and 24 cr on Sunday. Over the weekend the film collected 65.09 cr (net box office collection) in India. Overseas, the makers claim the film collected 8.5 million dollar ( 56.38 cr).
However, according to the trade the Friday collection of 'Dilwale' is 20.52 cr, Saturday is 20.09 cr and Sunday is 24.02 cr taking it to a grand total of 64.63 cr NBOC.
Coming to 'Bajirao Mastani', it is an expensive film clashing with a director who is also called ‘Blockbuster Shetty’. According to the makers of 'Bajirao Mastani', the film collected 12.80 cr on Friday, 15.52cr on Saturday and 18.45 cr on Sunday. Over the weekend SLB’s movie collected 46.77 cr NBOC (net box office collection) in India.
However, according to the trade the Friday collection of 'Bajirao Mastani' is 11.54 cr, Saturday is 13.96 cr, Sunday is 16.45 cr taking it to a grand total of 41.95 cr NBOC.
