Apple’s iPhone tops Flickr’s list of most popular cameras in 2015
Mumbai: Image and video hosting website Flickr on Saturday released a list of the most popular cameras and brands that were used to click the photos shared on their site this year. According to the list, the iPhone 6 tops the list of most popular camera on Flickr in 2015.
The iPhone 6 alone accounts for 5 per cent of all photographers on the image sharing site this year. Several iPhone models from latest releases to previous devices take eight of the 20 slots on the ‘most popular camera list’ this year.

The data further suggests that Apple branded devices clicked 18.52 per cent of pictures on Flickr this year.
In order of popularity percentage, the list places Apple iPhone 6 at 5 per cent. IPhone 5s at 4.9 per cent, iphone 5 at 4.2 per cent, iPhone 4s at 3.5 per cent, iPhone 4 at 2.5 per cent, iPhone 6 Plus at 2.2 per cent, and iPhone 5c at 1.8 per cent. Flickr also lists the iPad at 1.1 per cent.
Surprisingly, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were not registered in the top 20 list, which subsided with the Nikon D3100 at 1 per cent.
However, the latest models do feature better cameras and have received significant camera upgrades over past models.
Moreover, the Apple iPhones emerge as clears winners when compared to other Android-based devices like Samsung Smartphones, which makes the list at a much lower eleventh position.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the first Android device on the chart at 1.5 per cent, followed by the S5 at 1.2 per cent, S3 at 1.1 per cent.
