Kummanam picked to plan communal strife: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has accused the RSS of picking Kummanam Rajashekharan as the state BJP chief to plan Marad and Nilackal model communal clashes and agitation in the state.
He said the move was part of the RSS agenda to destroy communal harmony prevailing in the state. “He was not selected by the state committee of the BJP but by the RSS in their baithak held in Delhi,” he added.
The Left leaders say that the new BJP president had all through his political and social life been at the helm of Hindutva organisations. They added that the RSS move to hijack the SNDP Yogam was also part of the same strategy.
In a bid to counter the Sangh Parivar move in the state, the LDF is gearing up for a state-wide campaign against communalism and attempts being made to divide the state on communal lines from December 20 to 23.
One of the major focus areas of the Nava Kerala March to be led by CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan is the threat posed by growing communalism.
