Calicut University senate mulls action against complainants
Kozhikode: The Calicut University Senate has approved an adjournment motion demanding action against six girl students who had complained to the Governor and the High Court Chief Justice alleging harassment and violence on the campus.
The motion moved by K. Fathima Thahiliya and P. Nawas on Saturday said that the students had collected the signatures of many other students by allegedly manipulating the content.
“The students actually signed the memorandum demanding better facilities in the hostels. However, the six students changed the content and used it for ulterior motives,” the motion said.
Meanwhile, the KSU members protested against the registrar for rejecting their adjournment motion “due to vested interests.” They also tried to block his vehicle after the meeting.
