ACB seizes assets worth Rs 2 crore

The tahsildar has been arrested and she will be produced before the ACB court

Nellore: ACB sleuths seized documents pertaining to properties worth Rs 2 crore in the name of the tahsildar of Sangam mandal Suseela and her relatives during simultaneous raids in her home and that of her relatives on Saturday.

Ms Suseela joined revenue department as a typist and worked as tahsildar at Venkatagiri, Thotapalli Gudur and Muthukuru in the past.

As many as five ACB teams led by DSPs of Anantapur, Ongole, Tirupati and Nellore conducted raids in the houses of the sister of Susheela in Bengaluru, son and daughter as well as a close friend of the tahsildar besides a marble shop run by her son in Nellore.

ACB officials said that they have seized documents pertaining to two houses in Bengaluru. In case of Nellore city, ACB team found documents related to 100 ankanams plot in Dhanalakshmipuram, 45 ankanams plot in Iskcon City, 62 ankanams plot in NGO Colony and also at Baktavatsala Nagar apart from one house and plot in Haranadhapuram.

The market value of the properties in Nellore and Bengaluru would be around Rs 6 crore to Rs 7 crore, an ACB inspector said.

He said that the investigation is in progress and they are yet to verify the bank accounts and also calculate the value of gold. The tahsildar has been arrested and she will be produced before the ACB court, Nellore.
