Rahman makes style statement in a veshti!
This came as a pleasant surprise for the ardent Rahman fans.
The first look poster of double-Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman sporting a traditional silk veshti and silk shirt with an angavastram on his shoulder, has been going viral on social networking sites. This came as a pleasant surprise for the ardent Rahman fans as they had only seen him wear tuxedos, kurtas, simple trousers and shirts but not a dhoti so far. In order to go with the occasion of Tamizhar Thirunal (Pongal), we learnt that he’s performing on January 16, 2016 sporting this traditional attire.
Ace photographer Sharad Haksar has done an exclusive photo shoot for this purpose. Titled Nenje Ezhu, the concert will be a tribute sorts to those affected by the recent rains that lashed the city. The amount earned through the donor passes will go for the rehabilitation of the flood-hit. This was announced by the Mozart of Madras himself on his Twitter page. “Chennai floods to re-build lives for continued solidarity #NenjeEzhu #ARRLIVE2016, 16th Jan. Part of the proceeds for flood rehabilitation (sic),” reads one of his Tweets.
