Looks like Actor Adith’s career who played the not-so-typical antagonist in the Dhanush-Amy-Samantha starrer Thanga Magan, has taken off finally! All praise for Dhanush, Adith says — it wasn’t easy for him to match the VIP actor’s acting standards. “I was the youngest actor on the sets and the movie was a great learning experience. Especially, to be around the senior artistes like KS Ravikumar sir and Radhikaa ma’am. It was rewarding when they praised me for what I did. Though I felt a bit nervous initially, I eventually shedded my inhibitions as I had always wanted to give my best. Thanga Magan isn’t a typical Dhanush film. Here, there’s more than growing a beard and looking angry. So, I gave it a shot. Dhanush is a perfectionist and I found him busy on sets every time. It has always been work on his mind, but nothing else. I am glad that I did this movie,” he says.
With the privilege of being launched by Prakash Raj in his film Inidhu Inidhu, Adith pursued Journalism in Madras Christian College before moving to theatre. “Meeting Prakash Raj sir was a huge highlight. Things wouldn’t have been possible if he hadn’t introduced me,” he adds. Adith owes his success to his theatre background. “I was never inclined to take up a nine-to-five job and whatever I am today is because of my earnest preparation and rehearsal in theatre. The stage has been my biggest strength,” he says. Speaking about his future plans, he says he is game to do realistic and challenging roles. “I have had about seven releases so far but it doesn’t matter if I play the lead or not. The movies I do should appeal to the masses, which is the only prerogative. Usually, before I sign a role, I give it a lot of thought and only the script matters to me. I have always wanted to be a versatile actor, who can do any role with ease. I am passionate about acting and am quite happy with the work I am doing now,” he says. Up next, Adith has Ore Nyabagam in his kitty where he plays the lead role.
