In an interview with People, singer Katy Perry revealed that because of her strict Christian upbringing, she never got the chance to watch or read any of the Harry Potter movies or books that the rest of her generation did.
“Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to have any fantastical, enchanting stuff around me. I know Harry Potter, but I’ve never read the books, nor have I seen the movies because growing up, I was not allowed to read the books,” Perry said, whose parents Keith and Mary Hudson are religious ministers.
Katy’s Harry Potter revelation comes after she launched her latest ironically magic-themed perfume titled Dark Potion.
