Dissenters may split RSP and join CPM

The dissidents have also found a ‘deviation towards the right’ in the working style of the party.

Kollam: Signalling an imminent split in the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RSP), over 300 members under the leadership of RSP state committee member Reghoothaman Pillai have decided to leave the party and join the CPM.

The decision comes in the wake of the defeat of the party in the local body polls and the cross-over of the RSP to the UDF which has been criticised by the party central committee.

The dissidents have also found a ‘deviation towards the right’ in the working style of the party.

“Most of the RSP workers are against joining the UDF and they have decided to leave the party,” Mr. Raghoothaman told reporters here on Friday.

They have reportedly held discussions with the CPM leadership about joining the CPM. There were allegations that the Congress party had ditched the RSP in the local body polls.

Also, there was criticism in the national conference of RSP against the state committee for associating with the UDF while the central committee has aligned with the LDF.
