Star Wars passed with no cuts

After Spectre hue and cry, censor board plays it safe

All eyes are now on the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens which opens next Friday in India, a week after its global release.

The CBFC has decided to go easy on the cuts. In fact Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been given a ‘U’ certificate which means the film is unconditionally open to viewing by audiences of all ages, without a single cut. Says a source in the know, “After the hue and cry in November over the censored kisses in the James Bond franchise, Spectre, the censor board didn’t want to take a chance again. They decided to let the force remain with Star Wars. Unhampered.”
