Hyderabad: Two water delivery boys held for attempt to rape
Hyderabad: Two water delivery boys who allegedly tried to rape a housewife in the Bowenpally area were arrested on Thursday. The duo who entered the house of the victim to deliver mineral water cans attempted to rape her when they found that she was alone.
Police said the victim, 28, and her techie husband are staying in a rented flat in Jawahar Railway colony. Raju, a native of Maharashtra and staying in the Dubai Gate area, used to deliver water cans to their house on alternate days.
On Tuesday morning the victim’s husband left for work and she was alone at home. Raju and his friend Akash Raj, also from Maharashtra, came to deliver the can. After giving the can Raju asked her to get the delivery card to settle accounts. “When she went in to get the card Raju followed her and Akash latched the door from outside. Raju tried to rape her. Shocked she raised an alarm,” said Bowenpally inspector K. Kiran. Neighbours who heard the shouting rushed to her rescue, but the duo fled.
Based on a complaint a case under the Criminal Amendment Act 2013 was registered against the duo. They were arrested from the Dubai Gate area and were remanded to custody.
