These ‘anti-pee’ walls repel water and soak offenders in their own urine

The project has been trialled over the Christmas season in order to try and stop drunken revellers.

Fed up of the problem of public urination, one London borough council has introduced special walls that are designed to soak anyone who try to urinate on them, according to the Independent.

The council has painted the hot spots with a special type of liquid coating that will cause the urine to effectively ‘bounce back’ and wet the offender’s shoes and trousers. This coating has been created to prevent urine absorbing into building walls and reduce stains and smells.

Although the exact location of the walls has not been revealed, one of them is in Shoreditch and the other is in Dalston. The project has been trialled over the Christmas season in order to try and stop drunken revellers. This tactic has already been used in San Francisco.
