This earthquake-proof bed might not give you sweet dreams
People with a case of claustrophobia might have a less than positive experience with it.
A Russian inventor called Dahir Semenov has come up with a specially designed bed that can safeguard its sleeping owner by folding them up in a steel earthquake in case of an earthquake.
Although the bed is quite high, it otherwise looks completely ordinary. However, its sensors can detect movements if an earthquake hits, which causes it to collapse the mattress down into the bed’s box-shaped metal body. So, people with a case of claustrophobia – a fear of closed spaces – might not exactly fare well.
What’s more, the bottom of the structure also features space for storing supplies of food, bottled water, first aid materials and even gas masks so that the occupant survives until help arrives.
