‘Dead’ woman returns to life in Anantapur
Anantapur: In a surprise development, a 65-year old woman patient, declared dead, came back to consciousness half an hour after her “body” was taken out of hospital and being shifted to her native village in Rajampeta mandal of Kadapa district. She was declared dead at a private corporate hospital in Tirupathi on Wednesday. The incident happened while the relatives of the woman were busy making funeral arrangements and wreaths were getting ready for homage.
It turned out that doctors at the prominent hospital declared the woman patient dead without proper checks. Sixtyfive-year-old Nimmaraju Gayathri of Mulakkayalapalle in Rajampeta mandal in Kadapa district was suffering from kidney ailment and surviving on dialysis. As her condition worsened Wednesday, she was rushed to the hospital in Tirupathi. She has three sons and two daughters, while her husband had predeceased her.
A the vehicle carrying the “body” travelled for about 10km, the woman came back to consciousness, near Pullampeta, and started speaking to her sons and daughters who were in the vehicle. The vehicle immediately took a detour and headed for a private hospital in Rajampeta, where the woman was given medical aid.
A large number of relatives and villagers rushed to the private hospital after the news spread like a wild fire. The woman was later shifted to Chennai for better medical care.
