Sheena murder: Judicial custody of Indrani Mukerjea, other accused extended till January 4
Mumbai: The judicial custody of prime accused in the April 2012 Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukherjea, and two others - her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyamvar Rai - was on Thursday extended till January 4.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also charged the media baron, Peter Mukherjea, with murder and criminal conspiracy in connection with the murder case.
The CBI said that while it had earlier booked Peter Mukherjea under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), he had also been additionally charged under Sections 302 and 364, and would be prosecuted accordingly. It said that four serious charges have been levelled against him.
Indrani, her ex-husband husband Sanjeev Kumar and her former driver Shyamvar Rai, were arrested in August in connection with the killing of her daughter Sheena in April 2012. Sheena's partially-burnt body was found in the forests of Maharashtra's Raigad District.
