Mumbai: After Milkha Singh, Mary Kom and Mohammad Azharuddin, Bollywood has lined up Saina Nehwal’s story to be told on silver screen. A biopic on the Hyderabad badminton ace is in the offing and shooting is likely to start next year.
According to reports, the rights for making the biopic has been taken. The film is now being written by acclaimed filmmaker Amole Gupte who will also be directing it.
The filmmaker, best known for his work on 'Taare Zameen Par' and 'Stanley Ka Dabba', reportedly met Saina and her family at their residence in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The ace badminton player had earlier mentioned that she'd like it if Deepika Padukone could essay her role and Shah Rukh Khan play the role of her coach.
