Making FB wall his book release hall.
KOCHI: The Facebook wall of eminent psychiatrist Dr C.J. John will have a special relevance on Wednesday. He would release his latest book Ulkadukal Ulayumbol (When the deep forest quivers) on the platform at 7 a.m.
He would first officially invite his friend and Media School associate dean Prof Jossy Joseph to release the book and Prof Joseph would write on the ‘comment’ space below that the book has been released. The official book release would thus be over.
“It is so simple and its significance is that the new popular social media platform is used for the purpose. Its another significance is that my friends and well-wishers can come at any time to be part of the event and register their comments. It is not limited in time and they need not be physically present at a venue for the release. So I thought why shouldn’t I try this experiment on this platform where I have most of my friends and well-wishers,” said Dr John about his innovative approach.

DC Books is publishing the book which contains two plays aired through Akashavani and part of the Radio Drama Festival held more than a decade back.
The doctor has also given links to teasers of his plays on Facebook. “Creative platforms are more effective in driving home a message than the usual articles and this one is relevant for that,” says Dr John.
