IIM-K to promote Compassionate Kozhikode projects
KOZHIKODE: Students of Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode will undertake 17 major projects under Compassionate Kozhikode (CK) programme as part of their social development project.
They will expand CK further “both creatively and effectively,” Prof Priya Rajeev, in-charge of social development project at IIM-K said. “It provided the best opportunity for the students to present their ideas for the expansion of the popular programme,” she said.
“A major intervention is going to be made for girls and boys at home,” she said. Linking the compassionate people to the needy, it has been intervening in some of the major areas including the overall development of children below 18.
“By the time they reach 18 years, the children will be having many professional skills of their taste, including in IT,” she said. “The students will make a master plan, according to which changes will be made in the selected institutions.”
They will also make amendments to the existing system at the public library to make it friendlier and attractive.
The major projects under CK, a brain child of district collector N Prasanth, include Operation Sulaimani, collector’s internship programme, welfare homes, Savari Giri Giri, Sampoorna, public library and mental hospital intervention.
