MLC polls: EC names observers

Observers will visit their respective constituencies starting from Monday till December 27.

Hyderabad: The Election Commission on Monday appointed four special observers to oversee the MLC election process in four districts. The special observers will keep watch on the overall poll process related to the conduct of MLC polls, expenditure incurred by the candidates, Law and Order situation, violation of Model Code of Conduct prescribed for this purpose, and complaints made. Notices regarding deviations, if any, will be reported to the Commission.

The observers will visit their respective constituencies starting from Monday till December 27. Election Commission secretary K.D.K. Verma and principal secretary R.K. Srivastava have been deputed for Nalgonda and Khammam polls, and deputy secretary in the office of CEO, Bihar, Sanjay Kumar and CEO Jammu and Kashmir Shant Manu have been deputed for Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts.
