Vijayawada: TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao met his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence here on Monday and invited him to take part in his Ayuta Chandi Yagam.

Mr Rao, along with TS minister Etela Rajendra and MP Balka Suman flew by helicopter to Mr Naidu’s residence on the banks of the Krishna. The TS entourage was welcomed by AP ministers Yanamala Ramakrishunudu, N. China Rajjappa and R. Kishore Babu.

Mr Naidu came out of his house to greet Mr Rao and also presented him with a shawl. The two CM spent nearly two hours together. Mr Rao invited Mr Naidu for the Ayuta Chandi Yagam and also presented him a shawl and other gifts.

Mr Naidu organised a special lunch for the visitors that included Andhra specialties like natukodi, pappu, sambaru, fish and prawns, with Kakinada Kaja as dessert. He also accepted Mr Rao’s invitation.

Netizens see smoke, no fire

A picture and video of TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao smoking a cigarette at the helipad before returning to Hyderabad from AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s residence at Undavalli has gone viral on social media.

Apart from WhatsApp and other social media platforms, a video of the CM smoking was also uploaded on YouTube and viewed by hundreds in less than half an hour.

However, the video was taken down after an hour. The video showed Mr Rao, after meeting Mr Naidu, talking to AP finance minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, home minister N. Chinarajappa and others at the helipad.

While speaking to Mr Ramakrishnudu, Mr Rao moved away and asked a security officer to bring the cigarette. After which he smoked briefly while speaking to Mr Ramakrishnudu.

While it is unclear whether it’s a no smoking zone or not, there was a fire engine stationed close by.
