A small film with big takers

From Sai Korrapati to Allu Aravind, producers are investing in Jatha Kalise.
The small-budget film Jatha Kalise has been the talk of Tollywood lately. The star cast is not big and the director, Rakesh Sashii, is also a debutant. However, the film is in the news because a few big producers are involved in it. Sai Korrapati, the producer of Eega, has acquired the distribution rights of the film for nearly Rs 1.75 crore.
According to a source, producer PVP had suggested to Sai Korrapati to take the distribution rights. “Sai then saw the film and he too liked it and immediately called the director,” says a source.
And it was only because of Sai Korrapati’s involvement in the film, director S.S. Rajamouli attended the audio release.
“I hope Sai Korrapati will encourage more small films like this one,” Rajamouli said at the function. Apart from Rajamouli, many other film celebrities had also attended the event. Omkar’s brother Ashwin and Tejaswi Madivada are the lead actors in this low-budget film. Tejaswi said that Rajamouli’s presence at the audio release was a big boost to her. “Releasing the film through Rajamouli garu is a big push for me,” she said at the function.
But apparently, Sai Korrapati wasn’t the only one who was interested in the film. Another rumour doing the rounds is that producer Allu Aravind wants to take over the film’s theatrical rights. “He wants to reshoot the same film from scratch with his younger son Allu Sirish,” says a source.
But sources now say that Allu Aravind liked the film and asked director Rakesh Sashii to come up with another subject to make a film with Allu Sirish. Interestingly, Allu Aravind is releasing the film in Nizam through his production house.
The promos of the film show spoofs on Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu and Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh. “Not only these two films, there are spoofs on all the hit films of the year,” adds a source.
