‘Murder conspiracy suspect hired by Dawood aide’

Niyamath allegedly has seven murder and attempt-to-murder cases against him.
BENGALURU: Syed Niyamath alias Rehman (28), a resident of Bismillanagar, who was arrested from the city last month for conspiring to kill some prominent right wing leaders has reportedly been hired by Rashid Malbari, who had jumped the bail last year in September and subsequently fled to Dubai on a fake passport. His mentor Chota Shakeel is a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar.
“Niyamath allegedly has seven murder and attempt-to-murder cases against him in the city. He was in constant touch with Shakeel and Malbari through text messages for more than a month preceding his arrest. He was hired by them for eliminating some important Hindu leaders and was in the process of acquiring firearms, when he was arrested. Shakeel is reportedly based in Dubai but the text messages need not have been sent from there. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of City police have sought the help of the Interpol to get Shakeel and Malbari, who are wanted in several criminal and terror cases,” said an Intelligence officer on condition of anonymity.
“Malbari met Niyamath at Parapanna Agrahara prison, where Malbari was lodged after he was arrested in 2009 in Kasargod by Mangaluru police for plotting to eliminate BJP MP Varun Gandhi and Sri Ram Sene leader Pramod Muthalik. The Interpol had issued a red corner notice against Malbari, who is wanted in several cases of murder, kidnap and extortion in the country. He was also involved in the 1998 shoot out case in the K.G. Halli police station limits in Bengaluru.
