Kollywood celebrities continue extending their support towards flood relief activities, and funds keep pouring in from all quarters as well. Following SRK, another Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan donated Rs 25 lakh towards the Ramanaidu Charitable Trust for Chennai flood relief. Duggu sent a cheque of Rs 23 lakh and medicines worth Rs 2 lakh as his contribution towards the Mana Madras Kosam initiative formed by Tollywood actors among others. Recently, Kalpathi AGS Group, which is into movie production contributed a sum of Rs 50 lakh towards the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.
Besides, actor Arvind Swami, who played the antagonist in Thani Oruvan, donated Rs 2 lakh worth of medical kits and water bottles. It’s well-known that he’s the brand ambassador for ‘Chennai Gives’, a charity initiative by Madras Round Table 1. For quite sometime now, Arvind has been involving himself wholeheartedly, urging Chennaiites to give whatever they have in excess to the needy.
