Unesco honours for University of Hyderabad

The extension of term is a recognition of the efforts by University of Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: Unesco has granted extension for the Unesco Chair on Community Media in University of Hyderabad for a second term until 2019. Prof Vinod Pavarla, who heads the chair, said this is the only such chair granted by Unesco. The extension of term is a recognition of the efforts by University of Hyderabad in the field of community media in India and abroad.
Recently, a team from the university trained the staff of eight community radio stations in Bhutan.
These nations have invited them again to train more community radio officials there.
In Chhattisgarh, as a result of efforts by University of Hyderabad professors to empower a group of 20 children from Sarguja district, a YouTube channel called Sangwari Khabariya was started.
