Chandrabose jumped in front of Hummer, says Mohammed Nisham
Thrissur: Mohammed Nisham, accused in the Chandrabose murder Case, on Thursday told the trial court that the victim suddenly jumped in front of his Hummer at Sobha City residential apartment and that he had not intentionally rammed him with the vehicle.
Nisham told judge K.P. Sudheer who questioned him that after an argument at the gate of the residential apartment during the wee hours of January 29 over the delay in opening the remote barrier, Chandrabose and other security guards who were on duty there beat him up. When he was trying to escape from them in the Hummer, the victim jumped in front of the moving vehicle, he said.
The trial court judge read out from the statement of all the major witnesses, the investigation officer and the doctor who conducted the post-mortem of the victim's body.
Prosecution lawyers told DC that the trial judge citing the statement of the doctor that the victim could suffer fatal injuries if hit by a blunt object like the speeding Hummer car was important during the questioning on Thursday.
The court completed the questioning in the afternoon and asked Nisham whether he had anything more to tell the court. Nisham replied that he would submit his statement in writing before the court at 10. 30 a.m. on Friday and the judge agreed.
The prosecution case is that beedi tycoon Nisham rammed his SUV on Chandrabose over an argument about opening the gate and then assaulted the victim inflicting fatal injuries.
All the witnesses except Nisham's wife Amal stood by the prosecution during the trial.
