41000 cases for adalat tomorrow

Respective DLSAs in all districts across the country will hold similar events.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Around 40,944 cases will be settled in four courts across the district as a part of the third edition of National Lok Adalat that will be held on Saturday.
People who are fighting different cases can settle all the cases at the same avenue during the adalats that will be coordinated by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
Respective DLSAs in all districts across the country will hold similar events.
Separate court centres will be open at all the courts and 67 booths will be set up in Thiruvananthapuram, Neyyatinkara, Attingal and Nedumangad courts.
The marathon adalats will commence at 10 am and continue until all cases are considered. The judges plan to take up over 2,000 Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal (MACT) cases, 275 criminal cases and 42 family disputes cases among others. Penalties can be also be remitted at the courts on the day.
“Those who have not received notices can also come to the court with relevant documents pertaining to their cases," informed Principal Sessions Judge V Shircy at a press conference.
Bank officials with special decision-making powers will be present in the court to settle bank cases in a single sitting.
During last year's adalat 12,082 out of 23,125 cases that were taken up for hearing were settled.
