Show is about the supernatural and breaks the clutter of saas-bahu shows.
Mumbai: The recently launched Mouni Roy, Adaa Khan, Arjun Bijlani starrer, weekend show Naagin, in what comes as a surprise has left shows that have been running daily for years, behind to top the TRP charts. Mouni the protagonist is understandably ecstatic, “We weren’t expecting such a huge reaction. Thanks to the response, maybe our show will comeback with another season. I think what works for the show is that it is about the supernatural, and breaks the clutter of saas-bahu shows. There is definitely an audience for the supernatural, which is why the Twilight series is such a hit, but the concept had not been explored on Indian TV, until now.”

Speaking about her character Shivanya that has already become a favourite with fans she says, “My role is ofcourse not one of  a regular girl so I had no reference points. What I have tried to do, is not go overboard, just because it’s supernatural. I’ve tried to keep her real and relatable in some aspects.”

What fans are also loving is her onscreen chemistry with Arjun Bijlani, “Although it’s our first show together, Arjun and I have known each other since a long time. When you work with someone new, it takes some time to understand their style of working and it takes some time to get along. Since we were already friends, it made things easier for both of us.”
