Ugrappa-Revanna combine takes on ‘partisan’ Vala

Cong leaders accuse opposition BJP of misusing Governor’s office to destabilise Cong govt.

Bengaluru: Accusing Governor Mr Vajubai Vala of conspiring with BJP leaders to destabilize the government headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, two Congress leaders on Wednesday said the party would have no choice but to adopt the path of confrontation and even petition President Pranab Mukherjee for his recall in case the Governor fails to mend his ways.
Congress MLCs Mr V S Ugrappa and Mr H M Revanna told the media here BJP leaders were misusing the Governor office, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as well as Lokayukta to destabilize the Congress government. The party, however, would not chicken out and fight against such conspiracies, the said adding “He is sending back all proposals sent by the government and nominating RSS members to all University syndicates. We will wait for sometime before taking a call on approaching the President of India for his recall.”
Mr Ugrappa alleged that BJP leaders were trying to destabilize the government through three institutions. The Governor has not taken any action over KPSC issue and has kept all the recommendations pertaining to that scam pending. Even the ordinance regarding Bengaluru division and recommendations regarding appointment of vice chancellors have been kept pending.
Coming down on the Prime Minister's office, Mr Ugrappa said the PMO retained a recommendation to appoint Justice Nagamohandas as KAT Chairman for two years before returning it. Later, the state government proposed the name of Justice Bhaktavatsala, which is also pending for the last six months. The PMO refused to interfere in Kalasa-Banduri issue too.
