Odd-even: Whitefielders take the lead
Bengaluru: The Delhi government’s decision to allow odd and even registration numbered cars on alternate days has received a mixed response. In Bengaluru, members of Whitefield Rising, who are victims of constant traffic jams in their area, have come forward to enforce the "odd-even" system voluntarily.
Residents of the famed IT Corridor will now take out their cars only on the dates specified. Civic expert R.K. Misra, who has proposed the initiative, told Deccan Chronicle that the group members have decided to set up Car Pooling Points (CPP) on all major roads to ensure that people are not inconvenienced and pool cars easily. Residents of Whitefield, Sarjapur Road and Outer Ring Road will be part of the initiative, he said.
