Hyderabad: The GHMC has deputed 21 special officers for collecting property tax from defaulters who have not cleared their dues since many years. The Commissioner has assigned the task of collecting payments from 1,000 defaulters to each special officer. GHMC officials of West Zone have so far collected Rs 2.78 crore towards tax for financial year 2015-16. The officials have been directed to concentrate on private buildings. The GHMC’s tax department has to collect a tax of around Rs 518 crore from 3,829 properties located in and around Hyderabad city.
