Russian diplomat hits biker, assaults policeman in Delhi

New Delhi: A diplomat from Russian Embassy allegedly hit a biker with his speeding car, rammed into a barricade and later assaulted a police official at south Delhi’s Moti Bagh area on Wednesday.

Police have registered a case of rash driving, obstructing a public servant from performing duty and assaulting the public servant in connection with the incident which was reported around 1.30 am.

 

Police are likely to submit a case report to the Ministry of Home Affairs within 24 hours, he said. The diplomat, who was suspected to be driving in an inebriated state, lost control of the vehicle and hit the rear side of a motorbike, police claimed.

The biker, identified as Naveen, sustained injuries and was later rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
