Former RJD MP held guilty of killing two youths by pouring acid on them

Shahabuddin’s son Osama is one of the suspects in the murder of Rajiv Raushan.

Patna: Former RJD MP Shahabuddin held guilty of murdering two youths by giving them acid bath. A special court in Siwan on Wednesday found Mohammed Shahbuddin guilty of brutally murdering two brothers 11 years ago in Siwan.

According to lawyers, the court found him and three of his men Rajkumar Sah, Arif Hussain and Aslam guilty of abducting two brothers Girish Raj and Satish Raj and murdering them brutally by giving them “acid bath”.

The additional district judge A.K. Srivastava who heard the case and pronounced them as guilty under section 302 which amounts to murder, 364 (A) for kidnapping , 201 for providing false details regarding the case and 120 B which amounts to criminal conspiracy will decide the quantum of punishment on December 11 for all four held guilty of “brutally murdering” two brothers.

The incident according to lawyers had occurred in the year 2004 in Siwan, they said on the instruction of Mohammed Shahabuddin three sons of a local businessman Chandrashekhar were kidnapped from their house and was taken to Pratappur, the native village of Shahabuddin where acid were splashed on two of the victims while the third victim Rajiv Raushan somehow managed to escape from the scene of occurrence.

Lawyers said Rajiv was the sole surviving witness of the incident and had also appeared in the court but was later murdered in Siwan on June 16 2014. Shahbuddin’s son Osama is one of the suspects in the murder of Rajiv Raushan.
