‘All is well’ with Shankar Mahadevan

He was admitted to a hospital in Delhi after he complained of chest pain.
Popular Bollywood playback singer and music composer Shankar Mahadevan who has delivered chartbuster songs in Tamil, was admitted to a hospital in Delhi after he complained of chest pain. Reportedly, he suffered two back-to-back heart attacks before he was taken to hospital.
However, the singer is said to have undergone angioplasty after an ECG was taken at the hospital and is doing fine now. A close family source said that the national award winner is perfectly fine, although doctors have advised him to stay in the hospital for a few more days. His son Siddharth was quoted as saying that his dad is recuperating well and would be discharged in a day or two. We also hear that he had cancelled one of his upcoming shows scheduled later this week in Gujarat, and Sonu Nigam reportedly replaced him.
Meanwhile, the composer-turned-actor GV Prakash has wished him a speedy recovery. He wrote on his micro blog, “Prayers to Shankar to get well soon. He’s sung for me from my first album and a fine inspiration to all. Get well soon brother.”(sic)
