TRS names MLC candidates

The TRS will be contesting for all the 12 seats.
Hyderabad: The TRS on Tuesday announced candidates for five more MLC seats. With this, the TRS will be contesting for all the 12 seats. Wednesday is the last day for filing of nominations. Former MLCs S. Jagdeeshwar Reddy, Konda Murali and Patnam Narender Reddy, who joined TRS from other parties, were named as candidates from Mahbubnagar, Warangal and Ranga Reddy districts respectively.
The party also announced Kasireddy Narayana Reddy, owner of Brilliant Educational Institutions as its candidate for the second Mahbubnagar seat and Shambipur Raju, a staunch loyalist of minister K.T. Rama Rao, as the candidate for the second seat from Ranga Reddy district. Announcing the second list of candidates, MP K. Kesava Rao said that TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, after weighing all options and based on the ground reality, had chosen the candidates.
Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said TRS will bag all the 12 MLC seats and will repeat its Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll performance.By announcing Konda Murali a former MLC and husband of former minister and TRS MLA Konda Surekha as the candidate, the chances of Ms Surekha getting a Cabinet berth now appear remote. In fact, the CM had tough time in finalising the candidate as there were several aspirants after the stupendous success of the party in recently held Warangal bypoll.
For Mahbubnagar too, the CM was forced to concede to put up two candidates from the same caste for the two seats. Mr Narayana Reddy, who is quite “resourceful”, got the nod.
