Nature Cure hit by budget blues

There are 20 posts vacant in NCH and 40 posts in the factory.
Hyderabad: Shortage of paramedical staff, nurses and also Class IV employees is plaguing Nature Cure Hospital at Ameerpet and the Ayush pharmacy department. With 20 posts vacant in NCH and 40 posts in the factory, the Ayush department is struggling to operate. Dr Vijaya Sagar, chief superintendent of Ayurvedic Pharmacy said, “Every six months I am writing to the government to fill up these vacant posts as it is becoming very difficult for us to operate. But there has not been any response.”
The state’s bifurcation has added to their woes. A senior officer of NHC said, “We had sent a request to the Ayurvedic factory for workers and were shocked to know their status. They are worse off than us. But the fact that patient care is affected can’t be denied. On one side, we have a huge demand but on the other hand we are short staffed and that makes it very difficult to function.” The Ayush department has been constantly complaining that they are being given step-motherly treatment by the state government despite the Central government giving it priority.
Another officer said, “There is a possibility to employ contract employees but even that is not being done. We do not understand why the government is playing with the alternate system which is badly affected because of lack of manpower.”
