Vijayawada: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her 85-year-old landlord, and his friend, also aged 85, who used to teach her slokas, at Ramalingeswarapet of Ajit Singh Nagar in Vijayawada.
The duo along with the woman who helped them were booked under section 376 of IPC and Pocso Act. The issue came to light after the victim revealed the assault to her aunt and a child psychologist who is her neighbour. Child psychologist Sujatha approached the Balala Hakkula Sangam at Hyderabad who forwarded the case to the Child Rights Commission of the state.
The victim was living with her aunt in the rented house belonging to Jayaram, 85. She used to attend Bhagavad Gita classes by an 85-year-old man identified as Guruvu. They were helped by Rajeswari, Guruvu’s aide. Jayaram and Rajeswari are in custody. “A case has been registered,” Ajit Singh Nagar inspector L. Bala Murali Krishna said.
