DIVAS bite the BULLET!

More and more Sandalwood’s leading ladies are vrooming on Bullets and fighting

The typical introduction scenes of “star” heroes making a smashing entry while wearing shades on their super bikes and punishing villains is a thing of past. There is a shift in gear, almost literally! Now, it’s the leading Sandalwood beauties who are vrooming in top gear on their powerful motorcycles as they create their own persona. At least half a dozen actresses have hit the roads on their motorcycles for a thrilling experience — Ragini Dwivedi, Sindhu Loknath, Aishwarya Nag, Nidhi Subbaiah, and the latest to join the club is Amulya for Maduveya Mamateya Kareyole.

Speaking to Bengaluru Chronicle, Amulya shares her Bullet riding experience, “It was simply awesome, and one of the most memorable experiences for me while shooting. I must thank Anand, Tina and Prasanna, who are from the corporate world. They would come all the way from Marathalli at 6.30 am in the morning, just to teach me how to ride a Bullet. For the first 15 minutes, I made them run behind the bike, as they were a bit apprehensive. I was simultaneously shooting for two films, and was about to begin a third one for the season at that time. Though, I knew how to ride a two-wheeler, I was scared as a Bullet is so much more heavier. Believe it or not, I learnt riding the powerful machine in approximately 20 minutes!”

Ragini revved it up for Ranachandi and thereafter, the actress has been behind heavier motor bikes, and can also be seen punching the bad guys. “Despite being very heavy, it was really awesome riding the motorbike. I sprained my leg while doing so but it was totally worth it,” smiles Ragini,

The Coorg beauty Nidhi Subbaiah who makes her Bollywood debut in Direct Ishq, can not just ride a Bullet for a film, but she also enjoys it. Not many know that she is a professional sailor too and has sailed in the Amalfi Coast of Italy too.

For Aishwarya Nag, who rode a Bullet in Muddu Manase, it was great to have a change of scene, “It was a great experience as I played a tomboy, and yet a traditional girl in the movie,” she says.

The Bubbly Queen Amulya adds, “My entire team was very surprised, especially my producer Dinakar Thoogudeepa, and director Kaviraj. Soon after I completed the shoot riding a bike, I was gifted a chocolate. I was very satisfied with myself. In fact, the producer got the bike altered to make it more comfortable for me, with lower seats and a back rest.”
