Grant for Molecular Biology Lab in Tirupati
Tirupati: The TTD Trust Board has sanctioned Rs 6.30 crore for the construction of Molecular Biology Research Lab and Rs 3.68 crore to construct additional rooms in dialysis building in SVIMS.
The board gave its nod for several proposals during the meeting held at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala on Monday under the chairmanship of Ch. Krishnamurthy.
In a humane gesture, the board has approved to send five medical teams to Chennai along with ambulances and other medical aid to help the civilians in the cyclone-hit Chennai, in Tamil Nadu.
An amount of Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned towards the renovation of Ontimitta Kodanda Ramalayam and another Rs 5 crore towards the construction of TTD chowltry in Devuni Kadapa in Kadapa district.
Board has also appro-ved for a sanction of Rs 3.92 crore for improvisation works in Sri Kodandarama Chowltry and Rs 3.67 crore in Sri Govindaraja Swamy Chowltry in Tirupati.
Around Rs 1.25 crore have been approved for the construction of TTD Kalyana Mandapam in Kothavalasa in Vizianagaram district and Rs 25 crore has been earmarked to renovate Sri Venkateswara temple at Kandukur of Khammam district.
A resolution was passed to allocate additional land to Sri Raghavendra Swamy mutt in Tirumala on lease basis.
In a bid to facilitate the purchase of 15.30 lakh kg of Sona Masuri rice for free meal scheme, an amount of Rs 5.89 crore have been sanction at the rate of Rs 38.50 per kilo.
In addition to this sanction has been accorded to purchase 22 lakh coconuts at a cost of '1.95 crore, 45,000 tins of refined sunflower oil at a cost of Rs 5.08 crore and Rs 1.06 crore to buy 1,150 silk sarees required for Utsava Murthis in Tirumala.
Sanction was accorded to purchase 3,500 stainless steel laddu carrying trays required in Tirumala and Tirucha-noor temples at an estimated cost of Rs 91 lakh. The Board has also approved to purchase medicines for TTD-run hospitals and granted Rs 3.67 crore.
