Vivo Y27L review: functional beauty
The recently launched Vivo Y27L combines beauty with functionality. Design-wise, this device looks classy with a plastic frame and metal casing at the rear. Because of the metal body, this phone won’t seem too light in hands, but it has got a comfortable grip and sturdy look. It weighs 137 grams with 6.99 mm thickness.
The Vivo Y27L comes with an 8-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary camera. We think Vivo could have increased the front camera resolution, as the selfie-crazed world needs high resolution. Even though less in megapixel, Vivo has incorporated interesting features like the palm-activated self-timer, which lets you conveniently take selfies by recognizing your palm in 3 seconds.
There is also the face beautification and slimming option to make you look thin! The primary camera too comes with a few editing features such as bokeh mode (blurring the out of focus parts), children mode, etc.
For music lovers, this smartphone comes with a proprietary Hi-Fi chipset that claims to play clear and detailed audio quality. We tried playing a few tunes and found that the sound quality is quite loud and crisp.
Moving on to the other technical specs, the Vivo Y27L runs on 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor with 1 GB RAM. It is powered by Android KitKat 4.4 and Vivo has topped it up with its own GUI, Funtouch OS. The Y27L is a dual-SIM smartphone with support for 4G connectivity.
It comes with a 16GB internal memory, expandable up to 128GB. At an asking price of Rs. 12,980, we believe it’s a good buy just for the perfect mix of metal and plastic, style and performance.
