Shahzar Rizvi, Swapnil Kusale win shooting golds
Vijay Kumar took the silver while BSF’s Sib Kumar Ghosh bagged the bronze in the event
New Delhi: Shahzar Rizvi of the Indian Air Force and Swapnil Kusale of the Railways beat classy fields in the men’s 10m air pistol and 50m air rifle events, to be crowned national champions in the 59th national shooting championship at the Dr Karni Singh range here on Sunday. Rizvi beat an eight-man final lineup comprising the likes of Jitu Rai, Vijay Kumar and Omkar Singh, all decorated India internationals along with up and coming India junior talent, Achal Pratap Singh Grewal to clinch the national 10m air pistol crown. Vijay Kumar took the silver while BSF’s Sib Kumar Ghosh bagged the bronze in the event.
In an equally top field in the men’s 50m rifle prone final, Kusale, beat the likes of Gagan Narang, Chain Singh and Hariom Singh, to clinch the top spot, shooting a total of 206.4. Chain came second finishing with 205.5 while Gagan took the bronze on 205.
