TRS declares 6 more names for MLC polls

The ruling party has so far declared 7 of the 12 candidates for MLC polls.
Hyderabad: TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday announced six more candidates for the Ongoing MLC polls from the local body constituencies.
Dr Rekulapally Bhupathi Reddy (Nizamabad), former MLCs Balasani Laxminarayana (Khammam), T. Bhanu Prasad and Naradasu Laxman Rao (Karimnagar), Bhupal Reddy (Medak) and Puranam Satish (Adilabad) have been officially declared the party candidates.
The TRS chief had earlier announced the name of Tera Chinnapa Reddy as the party candidate from Nalgonda. With this, the ruling party has so far declared 7 of the 12 candidates for the MLC polls.
Incidentally, DC had, a few days ago, published a report in these columns giving these names. Giving details to the media at the Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters, MP and party secretary-general K. Kesava Rao said that the TRS would go it alone in the MLC polls across the state and contest all the 12 seats. He was confident that the party will win all the 12 seats.
Mr Kesava Rao said candidates for the remaining seats also will be announced soon. “There will be no alliance or understanding with any political party, we are not interested in this. We will win all the seats comfortably,” he said.
However when asked about his reported talks with Leader of the Opposition in Assembly K. Jana Reddy on Saturday morning, Mr Kesava Rao said “That’s got nothing to do with politics, more so regarding the MLC polls. We just met and exchanged pleasantries.”
