Police recovers stolen Lord Mahavira idol in Bihar

Bihar police recovered the stolen Lord Mahvira statue from Bichway village in Jamui district.

Patna: The Bihar police on Sunday recovered the stolen 2,600 years old Lord Mahvira statue from Bichway village in Jamui district. While masses particularly the Jain community lauded the efforts of the Bihar police, the police department said it was an outcome of “well-coordinated investigation which led us to recover the stolen idol within a span of just eight days.”

According to Jamui superintendent of police Jayant Kant, they recovered “the stolen idol of Mahavir from a ditch near the Jamui – Sikandra highway in the morning”. Sources said, police had picked up five persons in this connection and interrogated them which led to early recovery of the idol.
