Kolar: Green signal for Jalappa’s son-in-law?

Mr Siddaramaiah entrusted Mr Revanna the task of getting Mr Moily on board
Bengaluru: Except for former Union minister, K. H. Muniyappa, all prominent Congress leaders in Kolar- Chikkaballpaura Local Authorities constituency have reportedly given their green signal to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's decision to field his mentor, R.L. Jalappa's son-in-law G. H. Nagaraja.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a senior leader said, “Mr Siddaramaiah has worked out a meticulous plan using fellow Kuruba leader, H.M. Revanna, who shares good rapport with Chikkaballapura MP, M. Veerappa Moily and several other leaders of this region. Mr Revanna played a pivotal role in bringing all leaders around."
The source added that Mr Siddaramaiah, had given his assurance to Mr Jalappa, who was instrumental in grooming him as an Ahinda leader eight years ago.
“Mr Jalappa is strong in Chikkaballapura district where he enjoys considerable clout among voters. He wanted his son-in-law to be MLC and expressed this desire to Mr Siddaramaiah, who assured him much before the election process commenced,” he source claimed.
As part of this game plan, Mr Siddaramaiah entrusted Mr Revanna the task of getting Mr Moily on board. “Once Mr Moily was on the same page, almost every leader opposing Mr Muniyappa’s choice for the seat, also ganged up against him. It appears at this juncture that Mr Siddaramaiah will be able to pull it off smoothly,” the source explained.
Meanwhile, Mr. Siddaramaiah on Sunday said party central leaders had given him the nod to announce the candidate for Kolar-Chikkaballpura constituency.
“I would have announced the candidate's name but I need to speak with KPCC president, Dr Parameshwar and after this, we will together announce the name,” he said.
