For Varun, the short stay at Hyderabad is something to cherish forever. The city wooed him so much that even now, Varun can’t stop talking about the Hyderabadi cuisine and hospitality.

“We did not have much of time to go out, but we ordered biryani and kebabs. Ram Charan took us to his residence and treated us to delicious Hyderabadi food which all of us relished. Sania Mirza too treated us with a feast,” he says

He also got a chance to meet actor Sathyaraj, who portrayed Kattappa in Baahubali and the inevitable question popped out of his mouth. “Why did you kill Baahubali?” Varun says that Sathyaraj just smiled and said, “You have to watch the second part of Baahubali.”

Varun adds, “The writer too dodged my question. I also met Tamannaah, who is my schoolmate. The actors here are really very humble and grounded.” Varun considers Dilwale to be his lucky chance to pair up with the biggies in the industry.

“Who would not like to be a part of this historic film? It’s a big thing for me. My name will be there alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol,” he proudly says. On being paired opposite Kriti Sanon, he says, “Shah Rukh and Kajol are the ultimate romantic pair, but I can say that Kriti and I have also tried to put in our best. In fact, I have tried to put in my hundred per cent.”

So, what’s his next dream? “I want to be the part of an entertaining film like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, which is filled with enjoyable moments for the audience.” About being criticised by dad David Dhawan, he says, “My dad has always been vocal about critically appreciating me. If I have done a bad job, he will definitely try to correct me with his inputs.”

Asked about his love life, Varun quips: “Where do we get time for romance owing to our busy schedule?” But what about his outings with Natasha Dalal? “Oh! I have been telling everyone that’s not me. May be my look-alike.” Pointing at his neck, he adds, “Look, I have a birth mark here, so I am Varun. I don’t know who that guy is?” and smiles.
