Pool land for capital, says CM Chandrababu Nadu
Guntur: The Andhra Pradesh government is continuing collection of lands for developmental works said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Nadu and asked the public of old Amaravati to give lands under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS).
Mr Naidu launched the works of heritage city of old Amaravati on Saturday with union minister for urban development, M. Venkaiah Naidu. Explaining about the bright future to old Amaravati in the future, the CM said that some works were pending at the Dhyana Buddha project which would be completed swiftly. Asserting on the need for accommodation, he said that hotels should come up for staying of visitors, hence the government will develop all basic amenities.
Mr. Naidu said that Himalayan Buddhist Association is ready to start Buddhist school and others at old Amaravati which would further attract the foreign tourists. He added that the government is planning to start boat service in the waters of Krishna river for the public from Vijayawada to old Amaravati touching new capital Amaravati. He announced that a barrage would be constructed at old Amaravati, further boating facility would be started in the Nuneg-undala pond, laser show will be started at Dhyana Buddha and added that all the projects would be integrated including gardens in the Buddhist circuit. Dharanikota was once capital in the ancient times. Hence the government will construct a replica of that ancient fort and would put monuments and sculptures to attract the tourists.
He announced that a lift irrigation project at Bodhanam using Pulich-intala water would be started to provide irrigation water to this area. Mr. Naidu said that social welfare deputy director, R. Mallikarjuna Rao is doing good work for the development of Buddhist tourism. Responding to the public’s answer, the CM announ-ced appointing Mr Rao as the special officer for the Buddhist circuit project.
