LeT planning suicide attacks in Delhi: Cops

Handlers infiltrate operatives in India through J&K.
NEW DELHI: Alerted about the infiltration of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba operatives through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the special cell of the Delhi police has launched a manhunt for two suspected terrorists for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to carry out “fidayeen and grenade attacks” in the national capital targeting “high-profile personalities”.
This comes five months after the same special cell team had filed an FIR against unknown persons suspected to be belonging to the Islamic State (IS) planning to carry out terror attacks in India.
A highly-placed source said the number of terrorists who have infiltrated could be higher, which has also been pointed out by Central agencies to the police of several states, including Delhi.
According to the FIR lodged on December 1, the special cell of the Delhi Police received secret information about two suspected LeT operatives, identified as Dujana and Ukasha, who allegedly entered Jammu and Kashmir through PoK to carry out terror attacks in Delhi and other parts of the country.
The FIR was filed under Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
It was submitted at the concerned anti-terror court. The FIR states, “The LeT handlers have infiltrated terrorists into India through Jammu and Kashmir and other international borders,” adding, “Two of them, identified as Dujana and Ukasha, have been reported to be based in the Kashmir Valley for quite long and are allegedly conspiring to target high-profile personalities in Delhi by carrying out fidayeen or grenade attacks either themselves or through their cadres.”
It has also been learnt, the police said, that the cadres are believed to be using code names like Noman, Zaid and Khursheed. They are planning to target particularly crowded areas in the city, said a source.
Rajouri schoolteacher held in espionage racket:
Delhi Police on Saturday apprehended a school teacher from Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with an alleged ISI-linked espionage racket, the fourth arrest in the case.
The accused, identified as Sabar, is a teacher at a government school at Rajouri. He was arrested on Saturday morning and booked under provisions of the Official Secrets Act, said Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav.
This is the fourth arrest in connection with the espionage racket allegedly headed by suspected ISI operative Kafaitullah Khan. Khan was the first person to be arrested from New Delhi on November 26, while he was heading to Bhopal to attend a religious congregation and allegedly recruit more spies, followed by the arrests of a serving BSF personnel Abdul Rasheed and a former army hawaldar, identified as Munawwar Ahmad Mir.
Sabar is believed to be the one through whom Khan met Rasheed, Mir and his other associates, including the serving army personnel for whom a police team was sent to Siliguri, said a senior official.
