Housewife beaten to death, hubby held in Madhapur
Hyderabad: A 24-year-old housewife who was allegedly attacked by her husband on Friday night died on Saturday. Police said that Kumar, a cab driver, came home heavily drunk and attacked his wife Manjula with a stick, suspecting her fidelity. The incident happened in Madhapur. The deceased, Manjula, 24, was a native of Nagarkurnool in Mahbubnagar district. Kumar, 30, belongs to Rajahmundry in East Godavari district.
They had had fallen in love and had got married eight years ago. The couple has a daughter and a son. Kumar is working as a cab driver for an MNC in the Madhapur area and Manjula was a housewife, Disputes arose between the couple when Kumar started suspecting Manjula's fidelity. As a result, the couple had frequent quarrels. Meanwhile, Kumar got addicted to alcohol. On Friday, the couple had an argument. At night Kumar, came home heavily drunk and started fighting again.
“Kumar hit Manjula on the head with a stick. She suffered serious injuries on the head,” said Madhapur inspector K. Narsimhulu.
Manjula was admitted to Gandhi hospital where she succumbed on Saturday morning. A murder case was registered and Kumar was taken into custody.
