Driver tried to divert the vehicle towards a secluded area

Nellore: A woman jumped out of a speeding auto rickshaw to escape rape bid, near Mahimaluru Cross road in Atmakur mandal late on Saturday evening.
The woman boarded the auto at Patadevarayapalle in Anantasagaram mandal to go to Atmakur. There were two persons in the auto apart from the driver they started misbehaving with her. Meanwhile, the auto driver tried to divert the vehicle towards a secluded area.
Alarmed by the incident, the women leaped out of the auto. The culprits sped from the spot when some passers by rushed to help the woman. Atmakur Police launched a search for the auto after the woman lodged a complaint.
